Beaming Light

Beaming Light

You ignored the shameful state

Of one priceless piece

You over looked the filthy face of guilt

Shining brightly in self-pity

You stretched out your noble hand

And gently touched the slimy knob

Not mindful of your signet ring

You laid aside your sliver cup

And drank with me from my earthen bowl

You took off your royal cloak

And stooped to scrub that slimy slate

dressed Oh KING! In filthy rags.

Your meekness

It maims the might of a fiend

Your beaming light

It outshines the radiant sun

In all its glory at sunrise

This once battered heart

Is now your beaming lighthouse.
