Figuring Out Providence

Figuring Out Providence

I had a discussion earlier this morning with a man (He is not on any social media platform) whose wife is a fervent Christian who prays a lot. He said his wife concluded seven days of fasting and prayer yesterday and has not missed a popular religious programme going on at the moment for one day since it started.

Later yesterday afternoon, he caught her cheating with another man who works at her office. He said he had always suspected she was cheating on him, but she suddenly went on these religious activities, and he told himself he was being paranoid.

Yesterday, however, she received a call, and he saw that her countenance changed, and she went to shower and dress, etc

When he saw how much care she took with her looks on a Friday evening, he said the suspicions came back, and this prompted him to follow her discreetly until she discovered that she was meeting with a lover

He then said why would someone so prayerful still be doing what his wife did? He was confused

I didn’t know how to tell him that her prayer and fasting were because she and her lover had a fight, and she was asking God to make her lover call her and reconcile with her

The prayer had nothing to do with him or their welfare as a couple, as he assumed

The prayer was about the restoration of her affair

I didn’t tell him all that

I just listened and said, “Love works in a mysterious way.”

I have also seen a man whose side chick got sick, and he carried her to churches for prayers and divine interventions until she was healed.

While he was doing this, his wife was home praying for them and caring for them and their children.

One day, when I was a PA to a big pastor, one of the most prominent pastors in Nigeria came to minister in our church

After the service, in which the power of God moved mightily, a lot of people thronged to the pastor's office to see this man of God for prayers and counseling

One of the women who came, was a beautiful woman who was known to be single in the church, even though she was in her late thirties.

Her prayer request was for the fruit of the womb

The man of God looked at her and said "Where is your husband? The challenge may be with him and I would like to pray for you both.

She said, "I am seeing someone but he is not my husband, this baby will be for me"

The man of God was about to ask another question when the pastor I was working for, who was also present, whispered some words in his ears.

The pastor stopped asking questions and prayed for her.

The woman, who had been the side chick of a prominent bank CEO for many years, got pregnant that year and delivered a baby girl.

Even though at the time, the bank CEO had been diagnosed with cancer, and he had been told he was going to die.

I was in Abuja once for our GSWMI Gathering.

I arrived a few days early so that I could meet with people and spend some time in fellowship with my brothers and sisters.

A sister came to see me with her man; she said the man was an artist and a musician, but while he had been working hard, he had had very little to show for it.

I prayed with the two of them as a couple, and we even had dinner together at the then Sheraton Hotel with other ministers also present.

The next day, we had our programme, and it was very powerful

When we were done, we started taking pictures, and I started meeting with people

Just then, this same sister showed up with her husband and two children.

I was at first totally disoriented; the man she brought to have dinner with us and her husband were two different people.

Did God answer her prayers? Yes.

Isn't it shocking?

God does not answer prayers according to people's compliance with moral conduct or behavior.

One night, like 2 AM (this person is on X and will most likely read this)

I got a call from a Christian lawyer, 27 years old at the time.

She said she went to represent a client in court, and the opposing client was a SAN and his team, who flew in from Lagos.

The SAN gave her his phone number as soon as the judge adjourned the case

She called him later that evening because she wanted to change firms and wanted to work in Lagos.

When she got to the SAN's hotel, he said, "Come up to my room."

She was not naive; she knew what would most likely happen, but she still went up to the man's room and slept with him

When they were done, the man stood up to pick up something from the table, and he slumped and died.

The lady did everything she could to revive him, to no avail

She knew that if he left the hotel, the hotel management would call the room to ask the SAN if she was cleared to leave

Once they did that and didn't get a response, they would check the room, and she would most likely end up in jail.

She began to pray

"God, please let him wake up. If he did, I would go celibate until I get married.

Jesus, please, don't let my parents read about me in the newspaper tomorrow.

Oh Lord"

She cried and pleaded

Then she remembered that we had chatted on X before, and she reached out to me.

She told me what happened

I asked her to open her bible app, and we read some scriptures together out loud

Then we prayed

Two hours after he slumped, the man woke up

She said she didn't bother telling him what had happened

She just told him to wear something and see her off

She wanted the CCTV camera to capture the two of them leaving the hotel together while the man was still on his feet

That was how she was able to escape certain jail time or a legal issue that could ruin her career.

Why did God answer that prayer?

God is not man!

Men, mark your scripts according to your performance

Men bless you according to the measure or weight of what you earned

God does not.

Let us all keep this in mind.
