See Snake

There is a brother on this platform, every time I see him on my timeline, I cringe

That brother is full of bile

I am writing this so that I will stop cringing when i see him on my timeline

I need to get the "see snake" feeling out of my system

When i was a journalist, i worked for a TV station

I was part of the startup

From the training period, test transmissions and then the official launch

The owner of the station came into some political money and wanted to make more by focusing on politics and governance in the news

He recruited most of his staff members through consultations and recommendations

The station took off and things began to come together as expected

This man employed a veteran journalist as his Head of News

The Head of News told him that the station would need to set up liaison offices in Abuja and Port Harcourt

The man asked the Head of News to recommend some people for the job

The Head of News recommended only one man, his old friend and colleague whom he had worked with previously at another TV station.

The management team went to Abuja to set up the liaison office

Things began to take shape

One day, about six months later, the Head of Station in Abuja suddenly showed up in Lagos to have a meeting with the owner of the station.

The owner of the station invited the other management staff for the meeting.

Curiously, the Head of News was not in the office at the time

A few hours later, the Head of News arrived

The HR manager came out of the management meeting and asked the Head of News to join them

He stepped into the meeting, and he was sacked on the spot.

His job was given to his old friend, the one that he recruited as Head of Abuja Station right in his presence

Security was invited to walk him out of the premises.

As he was walking away in tears, he kept screaming the name of his old friend in pain "Xxxx, Why? Xxxx, Why!!"

We were informed an hour layer that we have a new Head of News

It was this man

I resigned the following day, so i never worked under him for a day

My decision was not out of sentiment

The atmosphere was just too toxic for me and i had seen enough to understand the kind of establishment that outfit would turn out to be.

I couldn't trade my sanity for pittiance.

The new Head of News did not last three months

He was also thrown out without any remorse or considerations

Guess what?

The company went to the previous Head of News and recruited him again to help them manage the Newsroom.

He accepted the job, not because he wanted to but because he had no option.

PS: Nothing hurts like the wound of a friend

Nothing the soul with bile as the betrayal of a brother
