The Anointing Is Curse Resistant

The Anointing Is Curse Resistant

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

Someone might whine, “It looks like a curse runs in my family, because no one seems to be making progress.” No; not when you’re born again.

The new creation in Christ Jesus is born blessed and can’t walk under a curse. Isaiah 10:27 declares, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

This verse doesn’t mean that the anointing breaks the yoke. Yes, the anointing breaks the yoke, but this particular portion of scripture lets us know that because of the presence of the anointing, you can’t be “yoked.” In other words, when a yoke is placed on a Christian, it necessarily breaks upon contact with the anointing, because the Christian is anointed of the Lord. Halleluiah! Notice again what Colossians 1:12-13 says, “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.” You’ve been delivered from the domain of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son! That’s your present location. In Christ, you’ve been delivered, sanctified and blessed.

The devil will try to keep you from knowing that you’re blessed. He’ll say, “Reach out to God to bless you.” He could even make you believe you aren’t qualified to be blessed because of the wrong things you’ve done. Don’t accept his lies. God already blessed you with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. All the blessings that God could ever give came to you in Christ, in the salvation package. You’re an heir of God’s blessing; live accordingly.

There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1).

I encountered a Christian woman recently who, on account of certain misfortune she suffered over a period of time, came to the conclusion that her predicament was the result of a curse. She wanted to know from me if it was possible for a Christian to be under a curse. I explained to her from the Word that a Christian can’t be under a curse because the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation; superior to satan; and so cannot be under a curse.

The Christian has been called to inherit a blessing and not a curse (1 Peter 3:9). This was the promise of God to Abraham in Genesis 12:3: “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” As believers in Christ, we have inherited the blessing of Abraham. So the Bible teaches in Galatians 3:29: “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Ignorance of this is, however, the problem of all those who believe the reason they’re not doing well in life is that they are under the influence of a curse or some voodoo spell.

If you’re born again and filled with the Holy Spirit, no one can place a curse on you! Even if they tried, it wouldn’t work, for the Bible says no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Numbers 23:23 says, “Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel…” So you see, you don’t need any deliverance or special prayers for a curse to be lifted from your life, for the truth is, you cannot be cursed.

Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought (Numbers 23:23). There are Christians who have come to the conclusion that their predicament is the result of a curse working against them.

They’re thus going around seeking deliverance from so-called ancestral or other curses. Such Christians, consciously or inadvertently, have been deceived. The Christian is superior to Satan and everything of darkness, and therefore can’t be under a curse.

The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…” (2 Corinthians 5:17). You’ve been born anew, called to inherit a blessing, not a curse: “…ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing” (1 Peter 3:9). Read God’s promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3: “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Blessings are at work in you, because you’re the seed of Abraham. No one can bewitch you or cast a spell on you.

If you were told that someone was trying to charm you, you don’t even have to pray for it not to work. You can neither be charmed nor cursed. There’s no enchantment against Jacob, nor is there any divination against Israel. This is your heritage as the seed of Abraham.

Did you say there’s someone somewhere scheming against you, your family, or your job? Don’t panic. Don’t fret. Their schemes against you can’t work. They should take a cue or learn from Balaam of the Old Testament. After several futile attempts to enchant and curse Israel, he submitted, “No magic spells can bind Jacob, no incantations can hold back Israel…” (Numbers 23:23 MSG).

Balaam couldn’t lay a curse on them, because they were God’s people; and today, we’re living out better promises. You walk in blessings only, and only the blessed Word of the Lord can come to pass in your life. Even the demons know who you are. There’s a mark on you; you’re branded for God; sealed for blessings. Glory to God!

God said to Abraham “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee…” (Genesis 12:3). Isn’t that ironic! Because of Abraham the blessings of God will come upon man. On the other hand, the lot of another man because of Abraham is a curse. Anyone who comes against you has positioned himself under a curse and as such he’ll live in misery the rest of his life. It makes no difference if it’s one person, two, ten, twenty or more people, they are all operating under a sealed fate.

This is why you should be very careful of the things you say about any man of God. Sadly, some Christians have constituted themselves to be critics in the house of God; they’re apt to criticize men whom God has anointed. These people would only get themselves into trouble for God hasn’t given any man such responsibility; that’s God’s sole responsibility. Mirriam was a prophetess and Moses’ sister. However, when she spoke against Moses the Lord rebuked her and she became leprous (Numbers 12:1-10). If God could do that to a prophetess, don’t you think even worse could happen to any other person!

Any man who harms His anointed ones has brought a curse upon not only himself but also his household and many generations after him. God Almighty said “…Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm” (1 Chronicles 16:22). Remember, the same fire that gave light to the children of Israel also placed great darkness upon the Egyptians. I urge you to keep away from anything that may cause the Holy Spirit to turn against you. “…Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.” Don’t touch them with your hand or your words. Don’t touch them with your pen or your publication. Be wise, for God has said you will not be guiltless if you do it.
