What Do You See?
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you (Romans 8:11).
What a profound Scripture we just read! So, the question is, “Who lives in you?” Is it the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead? If yes, then your physical body is no longer death-doomed or death-prone; rather, it’s been invigorated and made alive by the Holy Spirit. The power that made this happen isn’t residing in heaven but within you.
When you read Ephesians 1:19, it talks about the exceeding greatness of this mighty power. Then Ephesians 3:20 lets us know also that this power works within you: “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”
Many people describe experiences where they felt the power of God come upon them like a jacket. The feeling can make it seem like something landed from outside. But if something were truly coming from above and you didn’t see it, you wouldn’t know it came from above until you felt it. And the only reason you assumed it came from above was because you couldn’t explain it physically, yet you felt something on you.
But the reality is deeper than the feeling. The power of God is within you and works from within you, not from outside. Everything in the New Testament reveals that we’re different from those in the Old Testament. We don’t receive power from outside us as they did. We’re filled with the Spirit.

That’s why the New Testament reality is not to cry for power to come down but to live with the consciousness that the Spirit lives within you in all His power, glory and might. When you understand this, it transforms your confidence; your prayer life changes because you realise that you’re the carrier of divine power. Live from this standpoint, and you’ll manifest the supernatural consistently and effortlessly.
And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever (Genesis 13:14-15).
When the Lord told Abraham to lift up his eyes and look in the scripture above, He wasn’t referring to the man’s physical eyes, but to the eyes of the spirit. God told him all the land he could “see” was his; it was now up to Abraham to decide how far he wanted to see. Being a man of faith, he looked from his spirit and saw the whole world. The Bible says “For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.” (Romans 4:13). Abraham became the heir of the whole world by faith.
Now, that’s not the end of the story. The Bible says “So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham” (Galatians 3:9). You’re as much the heir of the world as Abraham: “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29). No wonder the Bible declare that God has given you everything require for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). However, it’s that which you’ve taken possession of by faith, that which your spirit has embraced, that you can enjoy. So it’s up to you! As far as your eyes can see, that’s what the Lord has given to you for an inheritance.
The question then is, “What do you see?” Concerning the coming year, for example, what do you see? Can you see yourself making progress? Can you see yourself walking in health, prosperity, joy and peace? You’ve got to see it, for that’s the key. See yourself walking in the wonderful blessings of God in the coming year.
As you meditate on the Word and pray about the coming year, see yourself making unprecedented progress in every area of your life. See God taking you from glory to glory. Perhaps you’ve been praying and asking God for a child, see the child with your spirit first. Whatever you’ve taken possession of from within, will certainly manifest in the physical.
Start practicing how to see from your spirit, for your spirit is where the light of God is. God doesn’t function in the realm of the mind or senses. If your going to enjoy all the wonderful benefits of salvation God has in store for you, then you’ve got to see with the eyes of faith and speak forth what you see.
You have three means or channels of vision:
1. The eyes of your spirit
2. The eyes of your body
3. The eyes of your mind
1. The Eyes of Your Spirit
What the eyes of our spirit see is not under our control but God’s. You can’t say, “Right now, I want to see something in the spirit realm”; no, you won’t, because seeing into that realm is God’s work. It’s up to Him to make something appear to your spirit or to open the eyes of your spirit to see into the spirit realm.
Understand that when God put you in the earth, He made your spirit to function through your outward man—your body. Every spirit requires a physical body to function in the earth; and while you’re here, you can’t choose to function by your spirit without your body. That’ll make you illegal to the earth.
This is why everything you’d ever do directly from your spirit would have to be through the Holy Spirit, and He would manifest Himself to you and deal with you in that realm without your body. This means the eyes of your spirit can only see what God shows them.
You can’t put them to work by yourself. That’s why you’ve not yet seen some things you’ve always wished you could. It’s because you simply couldn’t “open your spirit-eyes” by yourself.
Ephesians 1:17-18: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,”
You’ll also find in Acts 2:17 that The Amplified Bible calls visions “divinely granted appearances.” You can, however, use your other two sets of eyes at will. God gave them to you for your choice operations, and it’s up to you when and how you use them.
2. The Eyes of Your Body
The eyes of your body are your physical eyes in your head. You can choose to use them whenever you want. Simply open them and you can see what’s around you.
However, the sight or vision you get through
these eyes is limited. They can only see things that are already existent in the physical realm; they can’t see the invisible. This is where the eyes of your mind become so important.
3. The Eyes of Your Mind
The eyes of your mind are your creative eyes. In the mental realm, we’re able to create whatever we want to see. Your physical eyes can only see what already exists in the physical; they can’t make things become.
The eyes of your mind, however, can produce what you want to see in the physical.
In my book, “Recreating Your World,” I teach that your imaginative power is your creative ability.
God gave us the ability to imagine as a special gift to help us create the world we want to live in. If you don’t like the life you’re living, you can change it. God has given you the tool (your mind) and the ability to make the change.
This ability is naturally God-given. With your mind, you can choose what you want to see. Seeing only what exists in the physical is living at the lower plane of life, and, sadly, that’s where many are. But if you’re born again, you have the God-nature and God wants you to lift your vision and see the unseen
