Meditation Leads To Progress

Learn to be hungry and go voraciously for God’s Word, because of what it can do in your life. You’ve got to always open your heart and mind to the Word to build, strengthen, and establish you permanently and for you to enjoy all that God has made available to you in Christ. In the Bible, you read the Apostle Paul’s admonition to the young man Timothy, saying, “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them….” What things was he referring to?

In the preceding chapters of 1 Timothy, Paul had shared specific and vital truths from God’s Word with Timothy; it was those revelations he urged him to meditate upon. If the Spirit thought it fit to give Timothy such vital counsel through Paul, then it’s equally befitting to us today.

We’re to constantly meditate on God’s Word. Notice also that he said to him, “…give yourself entirely to them…” That means, “yield” yourself completely to the Word. Allow the Word to have power over your thinking; let it influence your words and propel your actions. Yielding yourself to the Word is a conscious and deliberate response, initiated from your spirit to the Word of God. As a result, you’ll then enjoy the benefits of the instruction.

This means you’ll make advancement by the Word; your progress becomes apparent when the Word is the final authority in your life. The phrase "may be evident” in our opening verse actually means more than “something coming casually into sight”; the Greek term is "phaneros", which means "to spread abroad". Your advancement, furtherance, and prosperity will “spread abroad" and become widely and openly known as you “meditate” and “yield” yourself wholly and completely to the Word of God.

Many people think of progress or success as having an increase in income, getting a promotion at work, buying a new house, etc. But true progress is more than these; it’s the development of your spirit through the Word and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. It’s that excellence which is obvious, first in your inner man, and which inevitably radiates outwardly. It comes forth from the “you” in you.

When you have this awareness, you won’t be intimidated by the crises or challenges of life. That others are making progress doesn’t mean you’re failing. So, don’t measure your progress or lack of it by the success of others.

True success means living the victorious life through God’s Word and achieving His desired goals for your life. It’s therefore unwise to measure your success by comparing yourself with someone else, because you may not know God’s plan for that person’s life.

Between you and the Lord, you can know whether you’re successful or not. You can look at your life today and tell whether you’re a success at the current phase of your life, for success is relative and measured at different phases in line with your divine purpose.

The life God has given you is one of ever-increasing glory where you heap success upon success. If you’re successful now, He can count on you for more. Therefore, measure and celebrate your success at each point by comparing your performance or accomplishments with the set goals.

You can be a success at a certain level, and then the goal broadens, and the challenges are increased, but you must win at every level. When you overcome the challenges and attain those new goals, you become a success again at a new and higher level. It goes on that way from glory to glory. That’s God’s plan and idea for your success.

I’m sure you had a clear-cut goal for the year; stay focused on your goals. Every now and then, pray in the Holy Ghost about your goals; this is so important because it’ll guarantee your progress in achieving them. The Spirit of God says, “But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit.” (Jude 1:20 AMP).

In the remaining days of the year, you will progress and move forward in your life like never before, irrespective of what’s been happening with you or around you. It’s your time and season of advancement… The beauty and excellence of the Spirit will be seen in your life. It’s my prayer that the Spirit of God will inspire and guide you to take the necessary actions that’ll cause you to have evident and unprecedented growth, increase, and prosperity throughout 2026 and beyond.

The Spirit of God is going to take you places… Places that your human ability wouldn’t have… None of those in our family tree ever failed. Some made mistakes but didn’t fail. They got up and continued running. Look at Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, and Jehoshaphat; look at them.

Failure is not a possibility unless you let it happen. You are the only one who can make you fail. There’s not enough power on earth, and there’s no force in the world that can make you a failure. You are the only one who can make you fail. But as long as you choose to win, as long as you choose victory, that is what you will have.

Some people are so used to a certain way of life and comfortable with the status quo that they don’t see something better; they’re not challenged by new ideas and possibilities. Don't be that way! Keep making progress. The Bible tells us about the man Isaac, who kept making progress: “And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great” (Genesis 26:13). This is God’s desire for all his children: a life of unending progress and success.

The Bible says the path of the just is as a shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day (Proverbs 4:18). He expects you to be increasingly fruitful and productive in all your endeavours; it’s your heritage if you’re born again.

In your ministry as a Christian, in your business, academics, finances, etc., what level are you currently at, and how much more progress do you want to make? It doesn’t matter how prosperous, successful, strong and influential you are right now; there’s still so much more you can be and achieve. Don’t rest on your oars; dare for more. Grow a discontent with your present level, and God will open your eyes to new potentials and possibilities. This doesn’t mean having inordinate ambitions, but that you’d be inspired by the dream of the greater successes and glories that lie ahead.

Refuse to have small dreams. For some people, their dream was to own a personal house and have a car. The moment they built the house and bought the car, they went to sleep in their minds, thinking they’d arrived. Don’t be that way; make progress on a consistent basis. Always ask yourself, “What’s the next big thing I can do for the Lord and my world?” Think advancement all the time.
