The Dare

It started long before he became a Christian

He had always been prone to cold and catarrh

Right from childhood, he coughed and sneezed for at least six months of the year

The rainy season was always the worst

Sometimes he would sneeze for hours

One doctor told him he had sinuses

Another doctor diagnosed it as Rhinitis

He used every medicine he could lay his hands upon to get some relief

Piritin, Procold, Actifed, Contact, and so on

At a point he started having chronic stomach pains

His abdomen would suddenly burn up and he would be in pains for many hours, sometimes days

At first the pain came once in a while but he didn’t know the pain was as a result of the side effect of the medicines he was using

He persisted in using them

The doctors that treated him kept giving him different variations of the drug

The more he used the more devastating the stomach pains became

Then he became Born Again

He did so on a neutral ground

He was convinced Jesus died for him

He was convinced Jesus became sin for him

He was convinced Jesus was the redeemer of his past and present wrong

But he didn’t know that the power of the Holy Spirit in a man can heal the man’s body

He kept frequenting the hospitals at least once every month for treatment

After a while the problem became chronic

The sinus or rhinitis attacks didn’t abate

The pain in his stomach became more frequent

Sometimes occurring every two weeks

Whenever the pain came, he would stool and vomit like a cholera patient

The burning would intensify

Some doctors would insist what he had was ulcer

He would protest and explain that he had never had ulcer in his life

Then they would adjust their lenses and pretend they had been right all along

But if course they would change the drug they had recommended before

Had he not been educated

He would have died of wrong diagnosis

He had nursed the health condition for over fifteen years

There was no permanent solution

One night at 12am the pain started as usual

He tried to sleep

Sleep gave up its hold under the chokehold of the stomach pains

He managed to drive to the Hospital

The doctor recommended a scan and a colonoscopy

He went for the tests the following Monday

The colonoscopy was a dead hit

The report showed he had six holes in his large intestine and two in his small intestine

The doctor told him what had to be done

“The drugs you have used over the years have damaged your body

You have holes in your large and small intestines

The waste products from your body are seeping out of this holes and mixing with your blood

Waste is being carried all over your body

You have a short time to live unless you have a surgery as soon as possible

The surgery will be carried out to plug all the leaks in your intestines and make you whole again

How much would the surgery cost?

The doctor consulted with other professionals and the cost was stated as 13 Million

He couldn’t believe it

13 million what!

He told the doctor he was sure God would heal him

The doctor laughed mischievously

He went home and told his wife

This is the situation

He told his family members

Everybody became worried

How do they raise 13 million?

Who would give them such a king’s ransom!

He thought about starting a GoFundMe account

The world may be a wicked place but there are people whose milk of human kindness still flows

He spoke with some of his friends and Christian brothers

Nobody really had a penny to spare

He stopped wearing belt all together after the pain refused to abate for many weeks

He was restricted to eating only beans and other meals made from beans

He thought he could manage his way out of the crisis or at least delay the inevitable for as long as he can!

One week later, he had a very busy day at work and ate around 6pm

As soon as he finished eating, the burning sensation began

His stomach burnt like a volcanic eruption

He bore it for many hours

At 2 Am in the morning, death started feeling like a good alternative

He managed to walk to his car and drive himself to the hospital

The doctor looked at him and said

“Why are you delaying the surgery? If I give you an injection now it would reduce the pain but treating the symptoms will never be enough! IF YOU DON’T DO THIS SURGERY WITHIN SIX MONTHS YOU WILL BE A DEAD MAN UNLESS I AM NOT DR. SO AND SO!!

As he listened to the doctor he felt irritated!

He was a born again Christian

A tongue talking miracle worker who delivers the counsel of God as accurately as he should!

Why would he be the one going on medical tourism?

Is there no more balm in Gilead?”

Had it been that he had the money it wouldn’t have been a problem

He hadn’t!

When he got home he went on his knees

“Father, he prayed, “the doctor said I will die in six months if I don’t go for this operation!

The doctor is joking!

When he got home he lied down on his bed in pain and laid his hands on stomach

“Father, in the name of Jesus, I speak to my stomach right now, I command it to hear the voice of the Lord!

I command my body to respond to the spirit of God within it and be cured immediately! He doctor had given me six months to live, please put him to shame in Jesus name!

That was it

The pain started receding from that moment

It was not sudden

It was gradual

By the end of that week the pain was gone

 Few weeks later, his wife noticed that he was dressed up for work and he was wearing a belt instead of a set of braces belts!

His wife called his attention to it

He was as bemused as his wife was

Two years later, his company introduced HMO to them

It was compulsory for all the staff members to fill and submit the HMO forms

He went into the hospital to submit his form

He ran into the doctor

The same doctor that gave him six months to live!

The doctor couldn’t believe it

Mr so and so, have you gone to do the procedure through another hospital?

He : No sir

The doctor: Do you know you are walking corpse?

He: No way sir, I was divinely healed by the Lord Jesus!

The doctor: Be deceiving yourself

He: I kid you not

Doctor: Ok, would you submit yourself to be tested again?

He said yes

They went for the test, both the scan and the colonoscopy

The result was zero!

All the holes had been miraculously closed up without surgery

The doctor couldn’t believe it

After two days of checking and rechecking

The doctor conceded!

His healing was a miracle indeed!

 

 

Ps: This is the third year after his divine healing

He now knows for sure that there is a power in every believer that is equipped to heal their mortal bodies and keep them in good health all the days of their lives

I am praying for all those with one medical condition or the other

Jesus is here to meet you at the point of your need

Right this minute I command that disease to lose its hold over your body

“I command a total healing, restoration, and repair of damaged parts of my body right now! I ask that you be restored to full health all the days of your life in Jesus name

The next time you are sick, wrap your hands around yourself and command the disease to leave!

It is your body, it must obey you and every stranger must be flushed out in Jesus name
