The Gospel
So, when I travel for a crusade with my brothers and sisters we have a dress code-Jeans and T-shirt. We wear this so that we can be smart and effective on the field as we minister. We have been to many nations of different tongues and the power of the Holy Spirit has been made so manifest in us that demons flee as soon as we arrive.
But religious people sometimes would come to such meetings and judge the ladies among us by appearance. Yes! There are places where religion had taken a strong hold and it was believed that to be a good Christian woman you must not wear trousers and men must not wear jeans.
Many were taught that in order to make heaven, women shouldn't wear trousers. This is ignorance disguising as holiness. Usually, such mindsets get dissolved when we begin to minister.
When they see a sister wearing trousers open deaf ears and the owner of the deaf ear is their son or daughter, they begin to reconsider their belief system. That is the power of the gospel. “Henceforth, we know no man after the flesh!” said the good apostle.
When we were in Kwara this year (We attend a convention there every December) some men of God came around. They had heard of our exploits and they wanted to partake of its blessings. One of them had suffered from a stroke three times and could barely walk.
He came to me and said, "Please pray for me." I said I would do so later in the evening during the crusade. Then he was invited to minister (He plays the accordion and sings beautifully).
I listened to the wordings of his songs. It was 100 percent anti-female gender! It was ridiculous.
He really believed he was preaching the gospel but the gospel has nothing to do with a woman soaking her husband's clothes in the water or being unruly.
He kept saying he was grateful that God made him a man and not a woman.
That is NOT the gospel.
Male and female he created them!
There is no gender with an automatic ticket to heaven.
Jesus is our ticket!
When he was done singing, I told the ministers with me that they should allow only male ministers to pray for him. (He wouldn't be healed if ladies wearing Jeans prayed for him). His mindset would be a hindrance and I wanted him to be healed.
Two brothers did and he was healed. He could bend his knees and the pain in his left leg was totally gone. He came to me after the service and he was full of gratitude.
Then he said, "I came believing I would be healed but I didn't know people dressing g like you can heal the sick. I am sorry. I told God that if I got healed that I would give him a land to build a church.
I have been healed and I want to give you that land. I said, “Sir, I understand, but I won't take anything from you, rather I will give you some money to fend for your family because I know the stroke you suffered these three times had taken a toll on your finances.”
He said, "Yes sir, I am in debt and I am trusting God not to go into the new year as a debtor." I said "How much are you owing?"
He told me and I sent him double the amount! He saw the alert and fell on his face. He cried. I smiled and said, "Our gospel is not in words sir, it is in the demonstration of the power and the love of God."
He said, "Sir, I am sorry for the way I spoke earlier. I didn’t understand what he meant because he didn't say anything untoward to me. He said, "The song!"
I laughed. I was once of that school of thought too, so I understood and I told him as much. The gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is not about eating, drinking, observing certain hours of prayer, going to mountains or dressing (we don't dress indecently because that does not bear witness to our testimony as the light.) Our gospel is the power of God unto salvation. We live this gospel!
Hallelujah!!!!!!
PS: I was instructed to announce to many who desire to gain ascension over mental illness and emotional illness that we should bless those suffering from such issues this season. To this end we will be sending financial and material support to those suffering from mental issues and emotional issues this season.
This is not a call to all but to a few please! Send me a DM.
The grace is nigh us. Let’s activate it with obedience
