Who Are You?
Many of us simply don't understand the difference between who we were and who we are! Before you became a born-again Christian, you had a name and a surname. You have parents who gave birth to you
You were born of flesh and blood! But from the moment you gave your life to Christ, you became someone else entirely.
John 1 King James Version (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
John 1: 13 says you were born, not of blood (Father's DNA) nor of the will of the flesh (Mother's pregnancy) nor of the will of man (Adamic nature but of God!
In essence it says "God is now your Father" Not Father in the supernatural sense or Father in the generic sense of God is the Father of the whole world and every creature
NO!
God is your Father!
God is your Father!
God is your Father!
Say it over and over again!!!
God is my Father!
God is my Father!
God is my Father!
I am talking about biological Father here! I am talking about natural Father here! I am talking about supernatural Father here!
You literarily became a "son or daughter of God"
Your name could as well be "John God" or "Janet God" or "Gbenga God" or "Bukola God"
Think about that for a minute! Let it sink in!
Remember that Jesus had an earthly Father called Joseph?
Do you ever recall anywhere in the Bible where Jesus refer to Joseph as his Father?
No!
The only entity Jesus ever referred to as Father in the Bible was God!
God was not a "father" in heaven to Jesus. God was a Father, a daddy, a dad, a popsie, a popman and papa!
God was not a being seating on a throne far away in heaven in Jesus' reality! God was real, ever present, ever close, ever there!
Consider the scripture according to John 5: 17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
18Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
19Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. 21For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. 22For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 28Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. 30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Read that scripture over and over paying attention to the words of Jesus!
Note the following
-Jesus speaking about God with such familiarity at such a time when it was religiously dangerous to be that familiar with God.
(Do you realize that what Jesus was saying here was tantamount to a Muslim calling Allah his Father! That was just unthinkable!
Judaism is extremely careful and guarded about the person of "YHVH" and the display of any form of familiarity could lead to violence, acts of terrorism or death! This ultimately led to the death and crucifixion of Jesus.
The fact that he took the reality of God in human experience away from the Holy of Holies into the human heart!
God started dwelling in human tabernacles!
God started swelling in you!
Hallelujah!!!
God became your Daddy and you became Jesus!
Think about that also!
The fact that when you read the gospels, you can actually substitute the name of Jesus for your own name and see yourself in him doing wonders and changing lives!
If you will ever get anything done through the power of the Holy Spirit as a Christian, you must take this seriously
You must tell yourself over and over
I am like Jesus!
I am like Jesus!
I am like Jesus!
What were the things Jesus had that were special?
1) He was born of a virgin birth
2) The Spirit of the Most High God overshadowed his mother for his conception
3) He got baptized
4) He received the Holy Spirit
5) He worked miracles, signs and wonders
6) He is the son of God and spoke with authority
7) The Father gave Jesus all things
(John 3:34 For the One whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit. 35The Father loves the Son and has placed all things in His hands.)
What are the things you have that are special?
1) The word is your mother ( 1 Peter 1: 23For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable,
through the living and enduring word of God. )
2) God is your Father
3)You got baptized
4)You received the Holy Spirit
5)You are working miracles, signs and wonders (Confess this over and over)
6) You are the son or daughter of God and you speak with authority
7) Jesus gave you all things (1 Cor 3:21, All things are yours)
| What were the things JESUS had that were special? | What are the things YOU have that are special? | |
| 1 | He was born of a virgin birth | The word is your mother (1 Peter 1: 23) |
| 2 | The Spirit of the Most High God overshadowed his mother for his conception | God is your Father |
| 3 | He got baptized | You got baptized |
| 4 | He received the Holy Spirit | You received the Holy Spirit |
| 5 | He worked miracles, signs and wonders | You are working miracles, signs and wonders (Confess this over and over) |
| 6 | He is the son of God and spoke with authority | You are the son or daughter of God, and you speak with authority |
| 7 | The Father gave Jesus all things | Jesus gave you all things (1 Cor 3:21) All things are yours) |
Matthew 28: 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Luke 9 King James Version (KJV)
1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
So what did Jesus have that you don't have?
And if you have all that he had, why are you not doing the greater works promised he commanded you to do?
Practical session!
Lay your hand on your heart, say "In Jesus name I purge you my heart of every seed of doubt and fear,
I confess that the failings of the sons of men have no designs over my reality! I am a child of God!
I walk in the full reality of who i am in Christ! My body responds to the quickening power of the Holy
Spirit, my spirit operates in full sync with the Holy Spirit!
Shadows and darkness are far from me, I am the light of the world, demons tremble at my presence!
I and my Father are one in Christ! My spirit is quickened by the Holy Spirit!
My spirit is trained by the Holy Spirit! I walk in the supernatural, i live in the supernatural
I command the supernatural, i breathe the supernatural, I am supernatural! Hallelujah
Pray in the Holy Ghost
